I obsess about fishes, insects/arachnids and birds, and try to photograph every interesting creature I see. For several years I've been doing a sort of home/back yard bioblitz, trying to find as many invertebrates as possible on my own property (a pretty small lot in a Chicago suburb) and on a relative's property next to a lake in southeastern Wisconsin. I take a lot of photos while fishing or dipnetting fishes.
It is always my intention to eventually work out the ID of anything I post here, but sometimes it takes a while (or I'm stumped). I'm not just dumping them and hoping for others to provide ID. I have a huge backlog of images and I think it makes more sense to put them here, where they might be identified or useful to someone, than to let them sit on my computer.
