I am a retired Emeritus Professor of Horticulture from Washington State University. I now live in Sandpoint, Idaho, and explore the northern Rockies. My scientific training is in environmental plant physiology of woody plants and the role of soil quality on plant productivity. I spent over 30 years in research and teaching. My current scientific interests focus on the ecophysiology of native plants and their effects on plant communities.
