I immerse myself in peace and tranquility in a very simple manner; scuba diving.
From the day after I received my scuba certification I have dived with a camera in my hands, whether that be for video or still images. I sometimes take my own images and modify them to create something more surreal, as in fine art.

iNaturalist has given me the opportunity to identify species that I didn't previously recognise, or to clarify some errors I have inadvertently made on my IDs. Seeing all the variety of marine organisms in my local dive sites and beaches etc is amazing.

Maybe some day I can combine my role as a research scientist in molecular and cell biology with marine life observations. Who knows, time can change everything......
