Botanist and evolutionary biologist at Rutgers University (NJ, USA) and interested in everything alive - plants, insects, edible species, things washed up on shores, flying dinosaurs (birds), and fungi, etc. Founder and organizer of the 2014-2024 worldwide Personal Bioblitz and iNaturalist projects at Rutgers University. I also run the Biodiversity of New Jersey projects on iNat and Moths of Costa Rica, etc. My research is mostly focused on botany (especially New World gentians and NE US floristics), contemporary ethnobotany, and botanical accuracy, biodiversity education, and weeds.
