Starting in September 2022, I am the collections manager for the Marion Ownbey herbarium at Washington State University. Previously, I was the state botanist with the Washington Natural Heritage Program in Olympia, WA. I have also had my own botanical consulting company in Kanab, Utah, was curator of lichens and managed the ASU/SEINet database at Arizona State University, was vegetation lead for Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, and state botanist for the Wyoming Natural Diversity Database in Laramie, WY. I have a doctorate (2011) and masters (1992) in botany from the University of Wyoming, bachelors in botany (1988) from Oregon State University, and AS in biology from Northwestern Connecticut Community College (1986). I have spent over 35 years studying rare plants, floristics, phytogeography, and conservation botany, mostly in Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, and Washington.
