I am retired. Interest in plants, trees, and other bio-diverse items. Close by is Lion's Head & Signal Hill which I attempt to visit frequently. However mountaineering is my relaxation and photos are taken all over the Peninsula & further afield. Another recent interest is the wild plumb tree planted widely in the City Bowl. I have noted that several of them have gum oozing from them and have had it identified by the student from Stellies as a form of Phytophthora sp. Now I am on a walk-about in our neighbourhood to record all these trees and if they are also affected. Wonder if there is any way to treat them?
