This observation is for the bird in the middle which, at the time, I thought was the Buzzard in the other related observations. However, upon looking at these photos on a computer, I think this might be a Kestrel? Input welcomed! A few more Red Kites are out of frame but were also involved in this interaction. The smaller bird at the top of each frame seemed to be being mobbed by the others.

Two owls began hooting in my neighborhood while I was painting. The owl hooting with three notes after the first three (I haven’t done music since middle school so bear with me) has a deeper lower pitch hoot that is immediately replied to by the other owl but with two notes after the first three and at a higher pitch. They’ve been at it for 30 minutes now.
