I’m a science and nature communicator from Edmonton, Alberta! In addition to my day job as an educator with the Canadian Wildlife Federation, I also freelance as a writer and photographer with a focus on the natural history of western Canada.

I have a BSc. in biology from the University of Alberta where I focused on zoology and palaeontology. My interests include a range of topics including vertebrate zoology (especially birds, reptiles, and mammals), butterflies, as well as vertebrate palaeontology- especially dinosaurs. I’m an avid birder, bugster, and fossil hound.

My professional experience includes work as a lab technician, fieldwork, and education and outreach at facilities such as the University of Alberta, Royal Alberta Museum, John Janzen Nature Centre, and the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum.

I’ve written articles and contributed photos for publications such as Nature Alberta Magazine, Alberta Prime Times, the Daily Herald Tribune, and Poplar Magazine. In addition to this, Ive been a naturalist-for-hire leading interpretive nature walks for Nature Alberta and the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
