Goethe State Forest butterfly count with Don Fraser and Clint Gibson. For whatever reason, I did not record the weather at any site today, but it was mostly overcast (with storms looming), not too hot but humid. and with a light breeze. We left at 1640 and headed home.

I again used a Panasonic Lumix FZ200 loaned by Don Fraser. Occasionally the camera performed well, taking some nice photographs, but mostly it was a frustrating day with hundreds of out-of-focus images, for whatever reason. In a few cases, I have uploaded an unfocused image to iNat. (I made the mistake of not bringing my [defective but mostly functional] FZ80 as a backup).

Note: only the southern half of Goethe State Forest is within the Goethe State Forest count circle; most of the northern half is within the (currently defunct) Devil's Hammock count circle. The Big Cypress boardwalk is outside either count circle, which is a damn shame.
